welcome to stillness space

A calming space created by you for you to find stillness away from your busy lives where you can breathe to restore balance, move to improve energy flow & relax to calm the mind.

We live in a world full of everything we need but sometimes we forget to give time to our mental health & wellbeing and with our time being so precious and always moving, we find time is something we cannot get back.  The opportunity to give ourselves space just to stop and be still even just for a few moments is even more in demand and also often forgotten.  It doesn’t matter where you are -  in this online world, you can be at home or even in the office as you don’t need to travel to a studio to enjoy the benefits of stillness space.

what is yoga therapy?

I’m often asked what is yoga therapy and how is this different from Yoga?

Yoga therapy is a relatively new term and is a mix of modern science and ancient wisdom, essentially integrating traditional yogic concepts, philosophies and techniques with western medical and psychological knowledge.

Its aim is to give us the tools we need to restore balance, improve our energy flow and calm the mind by using these ancient teachings in a therapeutic way.  Imbalance can be caused by a combination of the individual, circumstances and environment.

This is an embodied practice of mindful movement & breathing that supports the whole person, understanding the emotional, mental, physical and overall health & wellbeing needs of each individual and applying the therapeutic teachings and practices of yoga.

The International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) says “Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of Yoga”

Medical research shows that Yoga therapy is among the most effective complementary therapies for several common ailments. The challenges may be an illness, a temporary condition like pregnancy or childbirth, or a chronic condition associated with old age or infirmity

So whether you are someone suffering with back problems, sleep issues, anxiety, depression, tiredness, any chronic condition, or want to improve posture & mobility, or just want some space away from your everyday, simply put, yoga therapy will empower you to move, breathe & relax in a way that's personal & unique to you.
